MATERNITY & POSTPARTUM
Prenatal Care
Congratulations on your new journey!
We’re honored to be part of your birth team and are here to support you every step of the way.
Why See a Chiropractor During Pregnancy?
Pregnancy brings significant physiological and endocrinological changes as your body creates the ideal environment for your developing baby. These changes, however, can lead to spinal or joint misalignments, often caused by:
• A protruding abdomen and increased back curvature
• Pelvic changes
• Postural adaptations
Chiropractic care helps establish pelvic balance and alignment, which is crucial for the normal physiological functioning of both mother and baby during pregnancy and childbirth. Increasingly, women and birth providers recognize the benefits of chiropractic care in pregnancy, particularly when provided by a Webster-certified chiropractor.
What Is the Webster Technique?
The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic analysis and adjustment designed to reduce nervous system stress and improve pelvic biomechanics. It targets sacral subluxation and SI joint dysfunction, making it especially beneficial for pregnant women experiencing lower back and hip pain.
This technique focuses on aligning the pelvis, which often leads to shorter, easier deliveries with fewer complications or interventions, such as forceps or suction devices. During your first visit, our doctor will discuss your pregnancy and any concerns before assessing you for the Webster Technique. Using pregnancy pillows for comfort, you’ll lie face down on the chiropractic table as the adjustment is performed.
We encourage patients to begin treatment as early as possible in their pregnancy to ensure proper pelvic alignment throughout the body’s changes.
Our chiropractors are certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Postpartum Care
After childbirth, moms often focus entirely on their baby, forgetting their own recovery needs. Whether you’ve had a vaginal delivery or a c-section, pelvic biomechanics can shift, causing discomfort with walking, nursing, or sleeping. Postpartum care restores pelvic balance through adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and stretches used during pregnancy.
Many new moms also experience upper back tension from breastfeeding, holding or rocking the baby, and carrying car seats. Soft tissue work and chiropractic care can alleviate this discomfort and promote recovery.
When Can I Start Postpartum Care?
Your timeline depends on your recovery. Some moms visit us on their way home from the birth center, while others wait six weeks. If you’re comfortable leaving the house and are not experiencing heavy bleeding, you’re ready to come in. Moms recovering from c-sections often start care around 4–6 weeks postpartum.
